What do I do when someone is using my email address to spam people on my conact list?

a lot my of my husband's contacts on yahoo are receiving spam type emails and making it look as though it is coming from my husband's yahoo email account address. What should he do?

He is an elderly gentleman and changing his email and/or password would create difficulties for him.
