Aint nuthin but advertisements. They make their mony on people who purchase the product. They arent harmful, just annoying
Spammers do not get money because you opened the email. There are different types of fraudulent email, spam is just one of them, although you will hear people refer to any bad emails as spam. If you click on a link in such an email it can confirm to the sender that its a real email address, chances are they sent the same email to lots of random addresses. They can then sell your email address to various marketing companies. There are other types of "bad" emails such as money fraud, identity theft etc but emails marked as spam aren't usually harmful to your computer if you don't open any attachments or click the links :)What is Spam Mail? Unfortunately in this day and age, junk mail is going to come, no matter how hard you try. One great way to help cleanup all of this junk and spam is by using a quality spam filter.

Spam filter's have lists of known spam messages and other techniques to help filter away, and if desired, delete these unwanted emails. You also have options to safeguard known addresses, so emails from family members and family will never be touched.

There are a lot of filters out there, but many of them are junk. I highly suggest trying out SpamFighter, as I actually just read about it in a PCWorld article.

Check it out at this link: http://family-budget.info/offers/spamfighter/
E-mail spam, also known as junk e-mail, is a subset of spam that involves nearly identical messages sent to numerous recipients by e-mail. A common synonym for spam is unsolicited bulk e-mail (UBE). Definitions of spam usually include the aspects that email is unsolicited and sent in bulk.[1][2][3][4][5] "UCE" refers specifically to unsolicited commercial e-mail.

E-mail spam has steadily, even exponentially grown since the early 1990s to several billion messages a day. Spam has frustrated, confused, and annoyed e-mail users. Laws against spam have been sporadically implemented, with some being opt-out and others requiring opt in e-mail. The total volume of spam (over 100 billion emails per day as of April 2008[update]) has leveled off slightly in recent years, and is no longer growing exponentially. The amount received by most e-mail users has decreased, mostly because of better filtering. About 80% of all spam is sent by fewer than 200 spammers. Botnets, networks of virus-infected computers, are used to send about 80% of spam. Since the cost of the spam is borne mostly by the recipient[6], it is effectively postage due advertising.

E-mail addresses are collected from chatrooms, websites, newsgroups, and viruses which harvest users' address books, and are sold to other spammers. Much of spam is sent to invalid e-mail addresses. ISPs have attempted to recover the cost of spam through lawsuits against spammers, although they have been mostly unsuccessful in collecting damages despite winning in court.[7][8]What is Spam Mail? Spam is just junk mail via email.

Spammers typically get paid by how many emails they send (often as low as a few cents for thousands of emails sent). Some may get commissions for purchases, but not typically.

There are advertising companies, or the manufacturing companies themselves, that often pay spammers to send mail.
spam amil is the internet version of junk mail

you don't want t and most f the time it says you've won something you haven't entered

most email programs come with anti spam filters but they can't stop all of them if you are ever unsure DELETE the message BEFORE you open it and DO NOT open any attachments

the jerks that send this rubbish to us make money because people who are stupid take them up on the offer and pay them money to get money or pay for something that never arrives
I'm not sure about how much "spammers" get payed, but if you do get spam mail or mail from someone you don't know that has an attachment (pictures, files, folders, etc.), I suggest you don't open it. Period. This can cause a virus on your computer. (:
advertising. i hate spammers
