This may sound stupid but what is the difference between spam and luncheon meat?

I'm going fishing and was asked to get some luncheon meat to catch some carp but came back with spam... Does it make a difference?This may sound stupid but what is the difference between spam and luncheon meat?
Spam is a canned meat (spiced ham) and luncheon meat (bologna) is fresh.



I don't think the fish will be able to tell the difference, and the Spam may actually spread through the water to tempt the fish better.

I think that they are the same thing, just that Spam is a brand name of a type of luncheon meat. The carp won't mind!!
