Your account has been compromised, Yahoo strongly suggests that you change your password immediately, make it something difficult to guess. Then it will stop. Also alert your contacts to not click any links that may be in the message from your account, because it is most likely a virus/malworm. As far as receiving emails from your own account to you, it's a trick the spammers use to hide their address, it's called "spoofing" Just delete them. It will stop. I just had someone call me and ask if I was really stranded in Scotland! During the night, someone somehow accessed my email account, added an account using my name with a one-letter spelling variation, then changed my password! I also couldn't access full-header info. What do I do when someone has hacked my account and sends spam to my contacts?I had the same thing happen to me. About three weeks ago, it looks like a spam was sent from my email to about 80 people on my yahoo contact list. (I actually saw 80 sent messages in my sent email folder. Then yesterday, Oct. 6th, it seems another spam mail was sent out to many more people from my contact's list(perhaps my entire contact list - 900 plus) from my email address. But this time I had none of them show up in my "sent folder". I just changed my password and am helping that solves it but am not sure.
