Unfortunately, most spam is sent in disguise, with the From name spoofed (fake), and the ISP address detoured. Even using full headers and blocking many spam sites will not block the major spam offenders once they change the site they are routing from - but it does help. It's better than doing nothing at all.
Never EVER open spam, even to copy to report it ... some spam contains malware that can infect a computer even without clicking a link in the mail, or notifies the spammer that yours is a valid address.
