My mailbox seems to be sending spam to everyone in my contacts. How can I stop it?

I haven't been opening any spam.. and I had no clue my mailbox had sent anything until I received a few messages from my friends, wondering what the hell that is. The sent spam is not in the Sent folder. Plus, I receive it from myself, too. Anybody has any suggestions? My mailbox seems to be sending spam to everyone in my contacts. How can I stop it?
1 - Run a scan for viruses, malware and spyware. A virus scan alone is not enough. You have to use something like Malwarebytes which you can download for free

2 - After you run the scan, delete your browsing history and cookies, and empty your cache

3 - Restart your computer

4 - Change your email password to a combination of letters and numbers

This should stop it

Also email your friends that your account has been compromised and not to click on any links sent in these messages. If anyone clicks on the link, then the same thing will happen to their accountMy mailbox seems to be sending spam to everyone in my contacts. How can I stop it?
A couple of years ago my contacts started receiving spam, and I got "delivery failure" notices from out-of date contacts. I figure someone broke into my address book and stole all my contact addresses. I deleted my address book and now keep a list of contacts on a sheet of paper. Inconvenient, but it works. My mailbox seems to be sending spam to everyone in my contacts. How can I stop it?
Run a virus scan on your computer to see what it says, thats the only thing i can think of.
