It doesn't seem to block that person from sending you more mail. I know you can block them manually in the mail options, but what is the point in sending it to the spam folder if it doesn't do anything? What happens in Yahoo Mail when you mark items as spam?
Unfortunately, most spam is sent in disguise, with the From name spoofed (fake), and the ISP address detoured. Even using full headers and blocking many spam sites will not block the major spam offenders once they change the site they are routing from - but it does help. It's better than doing nothing at all.
Never EVER open spam, even to copy to report it ... some spam contains malware that can infect a computer even without clicking a link in the mail, or notifies the spammer that yours is a valid address. They will then send even more spam, or worse - sell that address to other spammers too! What happens in Yahoo Mail when you mark items as spam?
