What would happen if you sent spam emails to the people who sent spam to you?

You know, like what if you made a list of all the bogus emails you got, and started emailing those people with worthless junk?

It's a silly idea I know, but so is sending spam to begin with. I guess I'm just venting about the whole spam process, LOL.What would happen if you sent spam emails to the people who sent spam to you?
Ooo KIWI, you have a wicked thought process. I like it... Hey good idea, but guess what? It wont work. Most of the spam operators use computer generated emails and they are sent out like a big, "Whooooooosh!" to a Trillion emails at once. It only takes a moment. Once all the mails are gone, these guys delete the email address, which was used to send you the spam, and the "sender" disappears into the oblivion. So most likely the mail will bounce back to you. Mostly likely, if you a spam-guard, it will end up in your spam bin. Nice try though!
Usually the spammer uses a bogus address. The majority of the messages you would send would just bounce back as undeliverable. What would happen if you sent spam emails to the people who sent spam to you?
They are pretty clever. If you email back it never goes through, it just bounces back to you. I think they use an email address only to do a spam and then deactivate that email address. Yahoo's email system is pretty good in catching spam and just placing it on another folder so you don't have to bother even looking at it. Though every now and then some slip through the regular inbox.
So far, nothing has happened :) I tried replying to the writers of my spam... I think they just consider me spam!!!What would happen if you sent spam emails to the people who sent spam to you?
Hmmm i'm not sure but i like the way you think lol.
Yeah except most of those addresses are made up so they bounce back AND the "person" sending spam isn't really someone sitting at their computer sending emails from an email address.. it is like a computer program. (actually this sounds like a question in itself)

anyway it won't do anything but confirm that your email address is real so they can send more

Petfinder.com why do I keep getting spam sounding emails with no interest in my animal?

I listed my animal on this website and have been receiving emails that look like spam, asking to adopt my 'pet'. None are specific and some have bad English and grammar, while others make more sense.

What's up? None of these requests for info look legit. Is it phishing?Petfinder.com why do I keep getting spam sounding emails with no interest in my animal?
Sounds like it.

A while ago I sold Avon. And somehow someone overseas (or so they said) got my email and wrote in poor english that they will buy $3000 (or some large amount like that) worth of stuff, but I needed to send it right away and he will put it on his credit card.

I definitely did not trust it. I wouldn't trust them if they sound fishy. But some might be true, idk. When I message people on PetFinder or Craigslist or anything, I make sure to type the specific item and day they posted it on the website.

I wouldn't trust giving your pet to someone that sounds creepy. Maybe email them more and see if they are serious. But if you get the wrong vibe, then don't do it.

My main advice is to stay away from them.

Good luck, hopefully you find your pet a loving home!

What does youtube look for when suspending spam accounts?

What does youtube look for when they delete spammers? Is it because people click on the "report spam" button, or is it because spammers post comments on so many videos in such a small time? or is it because spammers accounts are usually newly registered and if they post alot, then they look at newly registered accounts and delete it? or is it because of the type of videos spammers post on? What is it?What does youtube look for when suspending spam accounts?
From what I've heard, they suspend them when many people complain about it

Why am i getting a ton of spam messages from random users on yahoo messenger now?

I dont even have my yahoo account posted online and it still happens! Is this happening to everyone or did someone i gave my account to gave it to a spam industry? I keep getting links to webcam sites. Also I have been geting links like that from one user i have so did a virus infect them and extract my account adress or what? Why am i getting a ton of spam messages from random users on yahoo messenger now?
If your yahoo email is known to someone they can im you. At the moment your best option would be to ignore anyone not on your contact list. In Messenger click on Messenger in the upper left hand corner and choose Preference (ctrl+shift+p for pc). On the left of the dialog box click Ignore List. Choose the top of the two options which is Ignore anyone not on my contacts list. Press Okay. In Main, at the top left of your email click the arrow next to Options and choose Messenger Options. On the left of the dialog box click Privacy. Choose the top of the two options which is Ignore anyone not on my contacts list.
1. Spammers have programs to invent random addresses fro them, and use 'spambot' computers to flood accounts with their messages.
2. Spammers skim the web for posted addresses. Do a web search for yours.
3. Infected computers are harvested for all addresses anywhere in the e-mail accounts, whether in the address book or saved mails. (That's why to use BCC always, and erase other addies too)

To block senders in the downloaded Messenger program, go to Messenger %26gt; Preferences %26gt; Ignore List, and add the IM name or e-mail of the person you wish to block. Click Add, then OK or Apply. Be sure to remove the name from your Contacts list by right-clicking and selecting Delete.
If you receive contact requests from unknown persons, go to the Ignore List and check 'Ignore anyone who is not on my contact list.' Then click OK or Apply.

In Mail, there are two ways to appear permanently offline to someone.
Here’s how to block them right now:
1. Open a chat window with the ID of the person you’d like to block. (They won’t see anything.)
2. At the top of the Chat window, click Block Sender.
3. Finish by clicking the x to close the tab.

Here’s how to block someone if they try to start a chat with you:
1. In the chat window that they opened, click Block Sender along the top. That’s it.
*** If you want to block a contact who’s in your Messenger List, you’ll first have to remove them from your buddy list in the Yahoo! Messenger client.

How to fix spam email from yahoo account?

my yahoo account is sending out spam emails from my address book. I ran antivirus on the computer and cleared out what I thought was the problem, but the spam emails happened again. Any ideas? How to fix spam email from yahoo account?
1. Change your password!!!!!! While at it, also update your security questions and make your secondary email contact other than Yahoo/Hotmail-%26gt; use Google's gmail. When you change your password, Yahoo/Hotmail re-encrypts your session cookie based off that new password. Since the hackers still have your old cookie and with your password not changed, they still can send out emails without you knowing.

2. Do not click on emails that you do not know or go to websites that have these scripts that will steal your current cookies to access your accounts. How do you know if they have these scripts? You don't. That's why you don't open them. If you do click on them, you will need to change your password again.

3. Do a virus scan just in case but most likely they will NOT show up since it is NOT a worm/virus for your case. But, do a scan just in case to eliminate that possibility.

4. You can try to contact Yahoo/Hotmail, but like many have said, they won't do anything.

5. Always log out of your email when finished and never click on "Keep me logged in" check box to clear out the cookie

6. Make it a habit to CLEAN out your web browser cookies, since ANY site can have these security exploits without you knowing!!!!!

7. Export your contact list as a backup since some hackers are getting bolder and will delete all of them.

I did all these steps above and the emails have stop going out.

To Yahoo/Hotmail engineers/staff reading this: You should consider encrypting the current IP address within the cookie to ensure that whoever is using it, IS AT the current IP address and if not have the person re-log in with their ID and password to gain access. How to fix spam email from yahoo account?
Change your password, also change your security questions and secret answers - according to Yahoo that should take care of the problem in most cases.

Is it illegal to sign people up for spam?

There are people that use their own email addresses and send me spam about dating services, and what not. Is it illegal if I sign them up for spam, like newsletters and what not, to give them a taste of their own medicine? Is it illegal to sign people up for spam?
its not illegal their giving you their email so that's like if they give you their phone number all you have to do is give it to someone else and then the other person can call that number it works the same way with spam

The CAN-SPAM Act doesn't apply to the person giving emails out to the spammers it applies to the spammers

and if you sign them up for spam that is illegal for the spammers to send doesn't mean you or the person getting spam can get fined or go to jailIs it illegal to sign people up for spam?
Yes it is still illegal because they haven't asked for it.

Spam is illegal but many people are still receiving messages because people don't care about the laws, and also because not all of these messages are technically spam. There are a list of guidelines which should be followed when sending emails. This includes not having misleading information in the header information.

Spam is actually unsolicited email and this means that people are still allowed to send out junk email that you have requested. If you put your name on a mailing list then this doesn't count as spam. It's very easy to get added onto mailing lists and as a result you probably have lots of newsletters in your mailbox right now.

Whenever you sign up for anything on the internet there is a box to say whether or not you want to receive communication from them. If you agree then that company is allowed to send you emails. This is not spam because they have already asked permission to contact you. It's important that you read everything you do on the internet.

However, even these newsletters that you have requested must have opt-out links in them somewhere. These links are used to take your name off the mailing list so that you can stop receiving the email at any time. To be in compliance of the laws these links must appear in the emails and be accessible.

According to the Can-Spam act, there are a number of consequences for anyone found guilty of sending spam emails. This can even get you in prison in some cases. The act allows up to $11,000 in fines per email sent which should go a long way to stop the problem. The act is normally only used against the most notorious spammers although it can be enforced against anyone.

There is a database of all complaints available on the FTC website and you can also submit complaints there. Alternatively you can forward any spam you received to spam@uce.govIs it illegal to sign people up for spam?
I think it depends, its like give or take.

but spam is illegal i believe.

Some1 just used my email account to send spam and then deleted all of my emails and contacts. What do I do?

Someone sent a mass spam email to all of my old contacts and then deleted all of my email and contacts so now I can't even email everyone telling them to ignore the spam mail. Is there anything I can do?Some1 just used my email account to send spam and then deleted all of my emails and contacts. What do I do?
You cant do anyting because you fell for a phishing scam and somehow gave the scammers your login and password details. There is no way to recover this once the hackers take it over and change your password or delete your contacts. All you can do is if you are in contact with people in Facebook or some other site is inform them there your acct was hacked and open a new email
